In 2005, Jamie Macfarlane and The Ice House team brought their passion, tenacity and experience to introduce Northern Ice Vidal Blanc Icewine to the world. In return, this Icewine received the 2007 Grand Gold award from the international Monde Selection Competition. Only two wines from thousands of entries received this coveted award and Northern Ice 2005 Vidal Blanc was one of them.
Astonishingly, in 2008, Northern Ice won two additional Grand Gold medals at Monde Selection, a first time ever achievement in the wine world. This time, it was the rare Cabernet Sauvignon and the Vintner's Reserve Northern Ice entries that had the judges unanimously rating these two Icewines as "perfect and without flaw."
